One For Mothers Day

My first (and probably last) lollipop card. I think they are really cute but I found gluing this a little bit fiddly .... and messy.

Framed

I found this frame at my local Life Line shop for $3. It was silver and quite tarnished so with a quick lick of black Gesso and a little gold 'rub n buff' I transformed it into this.

 

I transferred the Rhonna Farrer design onto canvas and added a bit of bling, but I think I may still add a little more dimension. 

I only thought to get a before photo after I was half way through applying the first layer of Gesso. So here is the 'before' pic. 

I am pretty happy with how it has turned out!

The one below measures 120cm x 40cm and was a bit hard to photograph.

It is a bit dark and depressing and has received a few odd looks .... I think I am the only one that likes it. 8-)

GASP!

It's been a while ... not entirely happy with this one but with the uber beauty of my Niece I really can't go wrong!

 

 Soooo did I actually end up cleaning that messy room....???

 

 ... Of course not, I just found myself a little cosy patch on the floor! :D

On the 'To Do' list

I really need to get in and clean this room up so that I can get into making schtuff! But it is just so easy to shut the door and pretend the mess isn't there! I believe a mess is a sign that you are having fun .... so much fun had in here! =D

  

Its no wonder I can never find what I'm looking for and always forget what I already have!

Another chick! I had to use soft pastels for her hair as my pen collection is still quite limited. I now know that I prefer to do a more animated style, as it is a lot easier!

Should I be Scrappin?

Ummmm Yeah! ..... I am totally aware of the many boxes of scrap .... junk  that is accumulating in my wee little craft room, but having a drawing and some pens on the go is so much simpler. I can have a bit of a colour on the kitchen bench while making dinner or in front of the Telly at night. Scrappin will just have to wait until that bug hits again!
This is my first attempt at using the skin tone Copics. She is obviously very Manga/anime inspired. I am not very good at faces so I think that will be what I should work on next, I'm also not happy with the boots but I only have one shade of black pen!
I have also used Soft Pastels and Souffle pens!

My Little Doodle!

Playing with copic markers ... I think things are gunna get expensive as these babies are so yummy to work with. I only have these few colours at the moment and I haven't got the right paper yet but I am surprised with this freehanded first attempt. I did a butterfly because I find them very forgiving to draw. ... and i realize I forgot his little antennae, :-(  poor little guy!

Never a dull moment

Brock loves to make these faces when I point a camera at him these days, if I want a nice photo I usually have to bribe him with X-Box privileges (cheeky boy). At least he doesn't get angry or refuse to have his picture taken at all ... I am grateful for that!
